What is the OZEV Grant?
The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) offers a range of grants to encourage the switch to electric vehicles by helping cover part of the cost of installing EV charge points.
We’ve summarised the main OZEV grant schemes below - including who can apply, how much you can claim, and when they expire.

Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)
Reduce the cost of staff/fleet charging at workplaces.
- Grant value: up to £350 per socket
- Cap: up to 40 sockets across your sites
- Open until 31 March 2026 (current guidance)
Infrastructure Grant for Staff & Fleets (SMEs)
Helps SMEs install the underlying infrastructure for multiple chargepoints.
- Covers infrastructure & enabling works for staff/fleet bays
- Grant covers up to 75% of eligible costs (site caps apply)
- Open until 31 March 2026 (current guidance)
- Grants are also available for enabling infrastructure works up to £500 per parking space (per-property caps apply)

WCS for State-Funded Education Institutions
A higher-value variant of WCS for schools and similar bodies.
- Grant value: 75% up to £2,500 per socket
- Cap: up to 40 sockets across sites (inc. any WCS applications)
- For state-funded nurseries, schools, colleges, universities
EV Chargepoint Grant for Flat Owners
Helps flat owners and tenants reduce the cost of a home EV chargepoint.
- Grant value: £350 or 75%, whichever is lower
- Eligible: renters or flat owners with off-street parking
- Installer must be OZEV-authorised
Chargepoint & Infrastructure Grants for Landlords
For residential/commercial landlords to install chargepoints and prepare parking.
- Chargepoint grant: £350 per socket, 75% of cost
- Annual caps: up to 200 residential + 100 commercial grants
- Infrastructure grant also available for enabling works up to £500 per parking space (per-property caps apply)

- Your full name and contact details
- Property or site address where the charger will be installed
- Vehicle registration number (VRN) or proof of EV ownership/lease
- Photos showing your off-street parking space or proposed charger location
- Installer’s details (Nu Electrics Ltd – OZEV-authorised installer)
- Proof of ownership (Land Registry title or recent utility bill)
- Tenant consent (if applicable)
- Number of parking spaces and how many chargers you plan to install
- Details of any shared or visitor bays
- Company name and Companies House number
- VAT number (if registered)
- Total number of parking bays for staff/fleet use
- MPAN number or recent electricity bill for the site
- Any previous OZEV grant reference numbers (if applicable)

If you rent and have a dedicated parking space, you may still qualify with your landlord’s permission.
