EV Charger Grants: Are You Missing Out on Free Government Funding?
OZEV EV Charger Grants 2026/27 - Businesses, Schools & Landlords

Back in April 2026, the Government updated and extended its OZEV EV charger grant schemes for a final year – yet there are still far too many businesses, schools and landlords who are yet to benefit.
With the schemes due to end on 31 March 2027, time is running out to take advantage of government funding towards the cost of installing EV chargers.
So, what EV charger grants are currently available?
Businesses – Workplace Charging Scheme
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is available to eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations.
· 75% of purchase and installation costs
· Up to £500 per charging socket
· Up to 40 sockets across an organisation’s sites
· Potential funding of up to £20,000
State-Funded Schools – Up to £2,000 Per Socket
The enhanced Workplace Charging Scheme for state-funded education institutions offers significantly more support.
· 75% of purchase and installation costs
· Up to £2,000 per charging socket
· Up to 40 sockets
· Potential funding of up to £80,000
This makes the current EV charger grant for schools particularly attractive for state-funded education establishments considering workplace EV charging.
Residential Landlords – £500 Per Socket
The EV Chargepoint Grant for Residential Landlords is available to eligible landlords and organisations responsible for residential properties.
· 75% of purchase and installation costs
· Up to £500 per charging socket
· Available for up to 200 sockets per year
· Suitable for qualifying blocks of flats, apartment developments and residential properties with private parking
Don’t Miss the March 2027 Deadline
The current OZEV grants are scheduled to end on 31 March 2027.
EV charging projects can require surveys, electrical design and an assessment of the available electrical capacity, particularly where multiple chargers are being installed. Starting early gives businesses, schools and landlords time to plan the right installation and take advantage of the available funding.
